Jimmy Kimmel Apologizes for his use of the “N-Word”

Late Night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel gave a public apology after it was revealed in multiple reports he used the “N word” repeatedly in a skit portraying Snoop Dogg as well as wearing blackface in a series of skits in the 1990’s. Kimmel apology in a statement below: 

“I have long been reluctant to address this, as I knew doing so would be celebrated as a victory by those who equate apologies with weakness and cheer for leaders who use prejudice to divide us. That delay was a mistake. There is nothing more important to me than your respect, and I apologize to those who were genuinely hurt or offended by the makeup I wore or the words I spoke.

Many of Jimmy skits are known for impersonations of celebrities .Jimmy made it clear that all of his skits were done just for fun and nothing was behind it. He stated that he has evolved over the years and his audience can vouch for him.

Following the controversy Jimmy announced he will return to ABC in September after his pre-planned vacation with family.
