Atlanta Remembers Rayshard Brooks
Rayshard Brooks, who was gunned down by Atlanta police June 12th, was laid to rest Tuesday afternoon with a host of family and friends. His service took place at Ebeneezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA . The room was filled with activists, mayor Keisha Bottoms, and celebrities like T.I., Phadrea Parks and more. The service was paid for by mogul Tyler Perry.
His death represents the injustice that have been taking place for decades against black men. The funeral reminded many people that Atlanta has failed yet again in the midst of fighting for inequality against police brutality.
Before his death family and friends stated how Rayshard was pushing to do better despite the obstacles of his past. He was fighting a system that was created to keep people in the system . Rev. Rayshard Brooks was carried out in gold coffin decorated in white flowers. He leaves behind his wife Tamekia Miller, four children, Dream, Blessing, Memory and Mekai.
