SOUL MUSIC LEGEND BILLY PAUL FEATURED ON TV ONE’S UNSUNG

Grammy Award-winner Billy Paul is the latest music legend to be featured on the TV One series UNSUNG March 29 at 10 p.m. ET/9C. Viewers will get a look into the good old days of soul music with the story of North Philadelphia’s own that helped define the jazz and R&B mix that transpired the original Philadelphia sound. His single “Me and Mrs. Jones” catapulted him to international fame in 1972 but that success came with a heavy cost. Paul struggled with substance abuse and had difficulty maintaining success despite releasing multiple charting singles in the 70’s. Paul has since passed away and his wife of 50 years, Gamble & Huff, and others come together to pay tribute to one of the great ‘unsung’ singers of his time.
