Black excellence was the ongoing theme of the night as a crowd of fashionably dressed guests filled the Georgia Freight Depot to witness the 2018 Spring collection, Becoming Legendary, from designer Reco Chapple.
The venue was decorated with blown-up magazine covers of past Chapple designs, which featured his most famous gowns worn by celebrity clients such as Kandi Burruss-Tucker and Niatia ‘Lil Mama’ Kirkland. Before the show began guests mixed and mingled with light hors-d’oeuvres, vendor tables, and an open bar.
The host for the evening was Dawn Montgomery the managing editor of the Atlanta Voice. The combination of her humor, along with the beautiful designs and an R&B intermission performance helped to create an exquisite experience.
The pieces Chapple picked for the show included everything from gowns, to beachwear, to casual Spring ensembles. Suit designer Miguel Wilson, who designed Todd Tucker’s suit for his nuptials to Kandi Burress for Bravo TV, added a flare to the event.
All proceeds from the night went to Chapple’s newest summer project. He will open his very own mentoring program called Legendary Fashion Camp. Chapple wants to share the knowledge and experiences he’s gained throughout the years to up and coming fashion newcomers just starting their careers in the Metro Atlanta area.
